Introduction.

Drama in education can play a major role in the personal development of the student and also helps in their communication skills. Reflection.

After participation in the gambol workshops I was initially at a loss as to how I might apply drama to my science t severallying but upon reflection I could envisage areas where I would and indeed have rehearsed some of the ideas.

The meet and greet practice would be very useful in the first screen out of new students as it would be a great ice-breaker. This I would follow on with the A-Z ordering of Christian names as this illustration would be very beneficial to both students and teacher alike in order to associate the names with the faces. To boost encourage a trust /team building exercise the blind leading technique would be great manoeuvre to participate in.

With regards to teaching the topic of science I move the class in some role play taken from the workshop on Role play.



I coherent three groups of students with four in each group into positions that delineated the particle written texts within a solid, liquid and a gas. I asked them them to act out how they would behave if they were heated. The rest of the class were to theorise which group represented each state and to which state had standard heat. This exercise was beneficial in that all the students remembered the particle arrangement and also enjoyed the fun involved in learning a topic which can sometimes be quite arduous.
