Method
Participants
Participants were 92 students from a cognitive psychology class at Saint Francis Xavier University, who participated as part of their science laboratory requirement.
Apparatus
A Wadsworth CogLab 2.0 Online science laboratory labor called Muller-Lyer Illusion was used in the present study. Participants holy the task on iMac computers in a computer lab. The task was accessed through the CogLab webpage and opened in its own window that alter most of the computer screen. The task window was completely mordant except for the stimuli used in the task, which were both white, and the instructions. The stimuli were two just lines that the participants were asked to compare. One line appeared on the bottom ripe(p) piece of the window and remained a constant 100 pixels in for from each one one running. This line had outward pointing wings. The other line was always presented in the top left area of the window. The other line had no wings and varied systematically between 85 and 127 pixels in length in regular intervals from trial to trial.
