The Dress is a poor story scripted by Julia Darling in 2006. The story is about tierce women, who constitute a family, and how families in our days do not talk about our problems, because it is much easier to pretend that nothing had happened. The schoolbook also deals with the growing need of keeping up the appearances at that place appear to be a huge problem for umteen families in our industrialized society, where material things comes before family and feelings.
In the short story there is cardinal grown up daughters and their mother. unity of the daughters is named Rachel, and Rachel has bought a new lovely dress. It is so lovely that it had make the other infants, named industrial plant, mouth water, just by facial expression at it. The relationship between the two babes is tense, and especi everyy Rachel hates her sister Flora, because she finds out the Flora has taken her dress. The relationship is characterized by contrasting episodes and not only the dress episode. Rachel has always been the good one, and she possesses all the good characteristics, and Flora wants to have all those things and that is why she takes Rachels dress. It made her feel taller, braver, cleverer, and Rachel was all those things already.(p.2, l.36) In other words, Flora is very jealous of her sister.



But who can say that they neer in their entire life have been jealous of their sister or brother? Not many, so there mustiness be other reasons way things end up so badly. We here about their relationship form their Mother too, she says that she knows that conversation between her daughters was often like this: barbed and dangerous (p.3,l.90). So I can conclude that their relationship is not good, it is very very bad. Flora is jealous of Rachel, Rachel hates Flora and they do not communicate very well. It is not the best basis for having a family dinner on an expensive restaurant.
