Essay description : This paper is about how to critique a poem. It explains the unhomogeneous devices that poets use to write a poem and that examiners use to target a critique. It explains what a metaphor is and how metre is used. It is clear and telegraphic for middle school levels between frame seven to grade ten.
A poem is an essence of expression whereby figurative and rhetorical devices, rhythm and sound are often key elements. There is normally a theme or an idea in mind... acquaintance for example. such a wide theme brings with it many aspects such as jealousy, betrayal or inspiration. With these authentic aspects in mind, the poet chooses the appropriate nomenclature for which to express such thoughts, depending on such qualities as denotation, intension and their power to conjure sealed images.

something. CONNOTES implies a certain value aside from giving the actual meaning
of something. Words too give you images that you relate to for example either on a visual, auditory, tactile level.

One could say love is a play if one wanted to imply that love could play tricks with ones emotions.
3. A SIMILE likens one thing to another for example if one states that friendship is like a ships anchor, because it steadies a soulfulness in stormy weather, then one is likening friendship to an anchor.
